Well I have been playing it and having alot of fun with it. It is still kinda buggy, but definitely playable. I have to give the developers credit where it is due. They are patching the game pretty much every 2 to 3 days, with fixes and updates. They are working with the community, and squashing bugs like crazy. I have not seen a developer do that in a long time.

Whats the world scale and how many ppl per server? All the videos I have seen have been people playing by themselves.

World scale: They did a server wipe this morning, so I lasso'd myself a horse last night and just rode around the map. trying to get a feel for how big it is. I would say it's about the same size as H1Z1 (the first map) maybe a little bit bigger. I really only just did a straight line north to the edge of the map, then west to the edge of the map, and then back south to the middle.(The map has a one time fog of war, I.E. you do not know what is there until you go there.) The northern section of the map is mountains, snow, and cold. It then gradually becomes green, forests, mountain streams, a few small lakes, and then to the desert. Kinda like Conan in the transition of bioms, however they seem to be equally spaced, unlike Conan which was mostly desert. Traversing it on foot is a long walk, capturing a horse, or a mule is a big plus. (you make a lasso, and equip it, and lasso the horse. It has a little mini game you play to break it to ride it)

I'm playing on an official server, it has a max pop of 60. Most I have seen on was around 45. There are alot of private servers. Most people tend to build around sources of water. Lakes, Streams, Rivers. Being that this came out on the 12th, people are still kinda of learning it. I did see maybe a total of 4 settlements in the north. Mostly small shacks. Towards of the middle of the map, were larger settlements, People had different tiers of buildings, I did see a couple of people with mines and oil wells. (Have not gotten to play with those yet, but they definitely look interesting.) I'm playing on a PVE server for right now till I get comfortable with how buildings work, crafting tables, resources, etc, etc. So I have not really tinkered with PVP yet. So to answer your question, it depends on where you build, down where I was at, I saw people all the time, if you were up north on the server I played on, you prob would not see anyone at all, unless they were exploring.

At some point, Tuesday night or Wednesday before I got on someone tried to break in. They were able to get up on the top of the plateau and made a hole in the wooden part by the still. They then took the door and wall down around the outer circle of the main base but stopped there and left a sign "I'll be back". Last night I worked on making that back part brick and closing it up and attaching via brick to the main structure.

Checked this morning and everything was intact. I logged out with all the $$ and some of the better mats on me.

Also I think the greater amount of oil you use on the mine = more mats that spawn in the mine. When I did 40 oil the other day I had more ore and gold spawns in the mine.

Also the Bank is out. Temped to drop one outside the fence to maybe start a little town area. I think with the bank that if you have stuff in there you can access it from any other bank you run across. May also be better to store $ there but unlike the safe its by player so if one person has the money no one else can access it.

If anyone else wants to join it's worth the $20 even if you only play a short time. Also this has a single player mode which is a bit different then a lot of these Sandboxes.
