Difficulty Setting?

What's the thoughts on upping the server difficulty setting? Currently Pyldrvr say it's set on Easy. Not quite sure what it does, but I think the idea of making a survival game a little more challenging would be good, especially now that most people are 60, or will be 60 very shortly.

I like the resource gathering set as it is because it already takes so long to build Tier 3 stuff, but I wouldn't mind if other PvE was more challenging.

Just throwing it out there for discussion, I'm not antsy about it and won't mind if we keep it on Easy... but who likes to say they play on easy? :)

After looking closer, Philo, there are 3 settings for difficulty.

1.) Civilized
2.) Decadent
3.) Barberic

I thought we were on civilized, but after further investigation these buttons will change the server settings to a default 'difficulty'. What we are doing now is a custom build which probably cinsists of Decadent with some of our own modifications thrown in. So, rather than clicking one of these, we should probably decide which settings we want to tweak and do it from the configuration file that I posted in the server config thread. What kinds of changes would everyone like to see?

Here's some of the settings I found that could be tweaked to make NPC's more difficult.

NPCHealthMultiplier=1.000000
NPCKnockbackMultiplier=1.000000
NPCDamageMultiplier=1.000000
NPCDamageTakenMultiplier=1.000000
DogsOfTheDesertSpawnWithDogs=False

Not sure what the Dogs of the Desert are, but they sound cool :)

Good to know Pyl, thanks for checking. I wasn't sure what the difficulty would do, so I'm not sure what I was looking for.

Looking at the settings you found though, my first thought might just up NPC health and NPC damage to 1.5? I wouldn't mess with the Knockback multiplier, and increasing health seems good enough rather than changing the damage taken.

And of course False to True for the dogs, regardless of what it does.

Just my thoughts though, hopefully others weigh in as well :)

Dogs Of The Desert will Spawn With Dogs if set to true. being level 60 adding dogs to an NPC that is usually interfaced with lower level players seems wasted. I suggest no, leave it false. If it was NPCs that were in level 60 areas than yeah set to true.
