(SOL) Navy Public Forum / Space Traders: Frontiers
« on: November 19, 2017, 10:27:04 am »
This game by the Trese Brothers just dropped on Steam.
I was a Kickstarter backer. Looks really neat.
Not necessarily the kind of game play that a lot of us get into, but anything with "Massive Space Open World Sanbox" will pique my interest.

A lot of the game has to do with a giant interconnected space economy.
I expect to run into FRG and isorg wrecking the place.

Anyone started playing it yet?

I played the original Shadow of Mordor non stop and loved it.
Holding off on this one just because I am still into Destiny 2.

SOW looks amazing and the Nemesis system looks like it is incredibly deep.
The unique orcs in the first game were easily the most fun part.

Any of yall play Destiny 2 on the PS4?
I got talked into buying a PS4 and playing this game.

It is a bunch of fun.
If any of yall are on there, my PS4 handle is deadsquirrel288.

Hopefully Pyl will forgive me, but I joined a clan called MurderInk on there.
Just a bunch of friends from college that got really into PS4 gaming but never into PC gaming.
Otherwise I could have got the SN hook in them.

for Alphie. It is Tristan, Paul Shaffer, Mike Ashley, and John Condon. You know those knuckleheads can't figure out anything more complex than a toilet seat.

One of the best parts about the new Star Wars Movie is all the Star Wars based humor coming out.

This one made me snicker.

I just got a copy of Shadows of Brimstone: Swamps of Death.
It is the Old West meets Cthulhu.

It is a Flying Frog product so I know the components and stuff are going to be great.
Any of yall played it yet?

I got it for our big Board Game weekend coming up in February and plan on spending some time reading the rules.
But I always like hearing about anything other folks came across in their sessions.
The game is too new to have a FAQ or Errata document.

General RPG / The Wolf Among Us
« on: August 04, 2014, 09:14:40 am »
It is by the same studio that did Walking Dead.

I played through it over the last week and it was great.
All the Episodes for the first season are out.
Based on the Vertigo Comic "Fables".

It is mature so you shouldn't have your kid in your lap asking "What should we do now little Billy?", because you never know when a arm is going to get torn off or a boob is going to fly at your face.

Upcoming Releases / This one looks cool
« on: July 02, 2014, 08:40:37 am »
It might be a little fringe for a lot of you folks.
But I liked the looks of it so I backed it.

I don't know anything about the developer.
I just did the $25 dollar backing.
Looks like pretty high goals for only a 70k backing.
So if it turns out to be vaporware, at least I ain't out much.

Upcoming Releases / One more for you RPG fans
« on: June 11, 2014, 02:43:37 pm »

Divinity: Original Sin is out in a few days.
I don't have anything invested in the Franchise.
Not a fanboi like I am for Torment/Wasteland/Baldur's Gate etc.

But it looks pretty good and it should be something to tide me over until Wasteland 2.

I figured Pyl might dig it.
It has scenario building tools like Neverwinter had for making your own levels and a coop mode so you can share it with others.

Bit pricey at 39.99 but I didn't get in on the Kickstarter reduced prices so I guess I have to pay retail.
Comes out on the 30th.

Upcoming Releases / it's almost here!!!!!!!

Mine is pre ordered. And I went old school with a box set because I wanted the goodies.

Stuff like a cloth map and what not.

Upcoming Releases / Next installment of the Mount and Blade franchise
« on: June 05, 2014, 12:05:37 pm »

I really enjoy Mount and Blade: Warband.

A nice little Medieval Combat/Kingdom builder game.
Warband's graphics are really dated, but it is still a fun game.

Bannerlord looks like they are going to keep focusing on the Calradia setting, but go back in time to the Falling of the Calradian Empire that led to the founding of the 7 Kingdoms/Factions in Warband. So kinda like a prequel.

The gameplay is should be upgraded with "better graphics". But once you check out the screenshots, you will see that this is one of those franchises that will never satisfy the graphics whores out there. Still, it is a great group of games.

And the developer has a nice little policy here
All Mount&Blade games can also be downloaded as a "try before you buy" trial version from TaleWorlds' website or the Steam store for free.

The trial version allows you to play the single-player game until you reach level 7 at which time it automatically saves your character and quits. After purchasing and entering a serial key, the limit will be unlocked and you may resume playing with the same character and access the multi-player servers. You will not need to download the game again.

General Discussion / It's almost St. Patty's Day!

This is from just down the road in my neck of the woods.

Made the rounds on the internet a few years back.
Figured I would bring it back in honor of the holiday.
