So, uhhhh... don't know if anyone was aware that I live in Panama City, FL. We got hit last Wednesday by a massive hurricane and most of the town is straight up gone. My mother and sister lost their house and Foxwhal and I have no water, power or cell service and the date for restoration is estimated to be at least two weeks for the lesser impacted regions. My apartment itself is mostly intact and we cooked all of the meat and perishables we had available to survive for now.

Hanging in there. Need a shower pretty badly.

When I first got the game, I didn't really get into it right away - had a lot going on. I picked it back up a few weeks back and I'm rather enjoying it - the combat is action based, there is a thriving PVP community and the crafting section is called 'lifeskilling', which ranged from fishing to trading goods. Strangely, you get XP from pretty much everything, so you can actually level while fishing or cooking.

They do have an in-game cash shop, but there is literally nothing locked behind a paywall that is required (no drop boxes w/ keys) - cosmetics are the only real gripe.

Civilization Series / Re: Favorite civ? Why?

Romans are my favorite as far as 'flavor' goes; I've always enjoyed Roman history.

But the Aztecs are easily my favorite Civ in the game for the following reasons:
- Jungle start bias. Jungles are hands down the best tiles in the game.
- Jaguars; in the jungle, they're practically scouts - strong scouts who heal 33% of their health and get a combat bonus in jungles. And can be upgraded through the entire game with all of these abilities intact.
- Floating Gardens give any city on a river a 15% bonus to food; combine that with a few other bonuses and you can easily get over 50% (which means every tile giving 2 food earns a bonus 3rd); I had a city in one game with 43 people that was still getting 30+ food excess a turn.
- Anything they kill yields culture.

I tend to not like playing too many different leaders, like In WoW I didn't like having more than one character. Just prefer to stick to what I know and enjoy. I know I can still viably shoot for most victory conditions with any leader, so the biggest factor I've found recently has often been what kind of start bias a leader has.

Yes...When we played together I would specifically race to offset and acquire his preferred abilities....because I'm evil and it's the only way to beat him.

and Yes, I prefer Pyldrvr as a woman too ...yet with all his male features.  :philosiraptor:

I don't recall you ever managing to beat me, Bannta ;)

Anyone playing Civ 6? I really enjoy it, but single player isn't really as enjoyable.

Civilization Series / Civ 6, anyone?

I've been playing Neverwinter and bombing about in my Ultrahard Minecraft server. I was in the mood for an MMO but I can't afford anything else, haha...

Good deal for a pretty solid early access game.
I saw that, but side scrollers usually have me looking under my desk for a coin slot.  Let us know how it is!
It's not a platformer.

Holy balls, did I get a lot of tanks for free... I'm up like 7 new tanks - I assume I keep the slots if I sell them? I've got 7 slots besides empty... I think I got a few packs when they were empty anticipating some interest in the French mediums way back. Looks like my tech trees are broken as hell, too.

Back to school and all that jazz; I need to repair my laptop but I'm having trouble finding parts - any chance you guys know where to look?

My rig is a Toshiba Qosmio X505-Q882 with a Nvidia 360M processor, MXM modified by Toshiba. I need to replace mobo, graphics and possibly upgrade RAM and HDD. Oddly, that's cheaper than replacement. I know the X505-Q892 has a compatible Nvidia 460M card I would like to upgrade to, but I cannot for the life of me find the damn things anywhere... anyone happen to have ideas other than EBay?,Qosmio,X505-Q882,PQX33U-03H01HB,Laptop,System-Boards.aspx

Laptop Motherboard: MB(PM;V;G;HD;K;GS;2H;2C)
Factory Direct     $264.00
Alternate Part Numbers:
I've called them; they have the listing, but don't have the item in stock. I may have to just get something off of ebay; I might dismantle one that is working but damaged...

:smileyworship:Congrats for getting back into school.  What are you studying (degree)?

I have no info on laptops... :(
Engineering. Just doing my core coursework at the moment, though. Probably going to be at this for a few years if things go well for me.

The only place I've ever found that sold MXM cards besides ebay was a site called but they apparently stopped. You can really buy a motherboard cheaper than a new laptop? I had a connection break on mine a while ago and a mobo cost hundreds of dollars more than just replacing the computer.
The prices I've seen are under $300; the rig itself cost $1400. Problem is finding stock. I should be able to not only replace parts, but upgrade the entire machine for under $1000 at this point...
