Anyone started playing it yet?

I played the original Shadow of Mordor non stop and loved it.
Holding off on this one just because I am still into Destiny 2.

SOW looks amazing and the Nemesis system looks like it is incredibly deep.
The unique orcs in the first game were easily the most fun part.
I was thinking about getting it because it is an XBOX Play Anywhere title, meaning I can play it on PC or Xbox for one price and the games will save across platforms, but I've read some mixed reviews on it so I have held off.

Pyldrvr is letting a console influence his gaming decisions. And I thought the slow activity was the sign that the end is truly near  :stupid:

It's not too long before he says something like "I only game on my phone now."

And eventually we will find him on his deck yelling at a solar calculator.

They now have an H1Z1 or Playerunknown type deathmatch mode which is interesting. I downloaded it the other day. Also picked up Paragon which I like and both were free and that is always a good price.

I also read that some of the dialogue is poorly done and hard to watch and that maybe there's too much of it. I dunno, I'll wait for you schmucks to play it and make my decision from there :)

Yeah.

A lot of the bad reviews I saw are "THE GAME IS AWESOME! BUT SCREW LOOTBOXES! 1 STAR!"

There are some folks that complain it is too easy to get so good at melee that the orcs don't stand a chance.
I never have that problem, probably because I max out at "fairly ok at melee."

Most of the mix reviews are because of the Lootbox implementation I think. Also the fact they made a DLC character to "honor" one of their people that died, said the the money from sales of his character would go to his family but really said that only sales from a few states would actual go to the family, all other states and the rest of the world sales go to the company itself.

Sure the game will be good, but the greed their openingly showing is going to bit them in the bingus. You need to hide that from gamers, it's okay to be business but don't let your greed and lust for you possible customers money show, that puts people off lol.

EVE Valkyrie was designed around the VR set up, i think that level of integration is still a few years off. I see a huge advantage in star citizen (if it ever comes out) linking gimbaled weapons with your headset.

I have an oculus rift and have played eve valkyrie on it, the game definitely  shows the potential of vr in a space/flight sim. Being able to follow the target by turning your head while you bring the ship around completely changes the feel of a dog fight.

This is what I want from more VR games, none of the hand controller gimmick stuff with point and click movement, but instead integration into games for view control etc. Being able to use something like that to Aiming the turreted nose guns of the Liberator, lighting turret etc in Planetside2, or being able to look around in MMO/shooters with movement control still being mouse keyboard/controller would be nice.
